SmallTalks is a service that brings together academics and other experts with small groups of adults in salon-like settings to discuss great ideas and great books. We are looking for speakers who are passionate about their subject and able to deliver a thoughtful, surprising, and memorable event for laypersons who are eager to listen, learn, and engage. Generally, you will be expected to offer a lecture of approximately 45 minutes followed by another 45 minutes of discussion and conversation with the assembled guests.
SmallTalks speakers may not use this forum or our community to sell products or services.
As a SmallTalks speaker, you can decide your fee, how far you’re willing to travel, and what dates you are available. If you are accepted as a speaker, we’ll post your photograph, a short biography and the topic(s) with available lecture dates on our website. Payment will be handled through the site with SmallTalks deducting 10% of your engagement fee to cover administration and marketing costs.
